LGBTQ people are a significant and diverse part of your patient population. People in the LGBTQ communities experience worse health outcomes than their heterosexual and cisgender counterparts for multiple reasons. As health care providers, it is vital that you understand who LGBTQ people are, what issues impact them and their families, and how best to provide them with culturally humble and affirming care.
