The Ed Ready test is free and you can expect each section of the test to take no more than an hour and a half. The test will have two sections, Math and a combined Reading & Writing section. Some students only need a portion of the test due to transfer credits or test scores from the ACT, EdReady Diagnostic and EdReady Study Path, GED College Readiness, SAT, KYOTE, TABE 9/10-A, or High School GPA.

Exam guideline acknowledgment 

Welcome to West Kentucky Community & Technical College!

At WKCTC, we want to make sure you are enrolled in the right classes. We accept ACT, EdReady Diagnostic and EdReady Study Path, SAT, KYOTE, and TABE 9/10-A within the last four years,  GED College Readiness 2015 or newer or High School GPA to determine your benchmark.

If you do not have test scores to submit from the above list, you're ready to schedule your EdReady test. 

 If you need placement testing in order to enroll at WKCTC, we are currently offering an in-person or online option for EdReady testing. 

In-person with Proctored Assistance: This option will require you to schedule an appointment at a specific time for you to complete your test during a proctored session. Online without Proctored Assistance: If choosing this option, you will be sent electronic instructions that you will follow to complete your test session. Technical assistance will be available by email, but not an immediate response.   

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

If you have applied to the college and prefer to come in person to complete this part of the enrollment process, a test proctor will be in contact with you. 

WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO TEST AT HOME?

Desktop or laptop computer (the test can not be taken on a mobile device at this time).

Operating System:  Microsoft Windows 8.1 or higher OR MAC OSX v.10.12 (Sierra) or higher

Browser: Internet Explorer 11.0 or Edge, Mozilla Firefox 65.0 or later, Google Chrome 73 or later, Safari 10.1 or later

High-speed Internet is mandatory

Working audio and video

Scientific calculator (for the math test). PROHIBITED Calculators – Calculators with built-in or downloaded computer algebra system functionality. Texas Instruments: TI-89, TI-92, and the TI-Nspire CAS-. Hewlett-Packard: HP PRIME, HP 48GII, and all models that begin with HP 40G, HP49G, or HP50G. Casio: fx-CP400, Algebra FX 2.0, ClassPad 300 AND ClassPad 330, and all models that begin with CFX-9970G.

HOW WILL THIS WORK?

Provide the info requested to register along with your preferred testing date and time. Please be sure you list a working email address because it will be used to send you the login instructions that you will need to enter the live test session.

You will receive an email with the instructions for when to log on and begin your testing session.
