AUDITION for the 28th Season of Young Dancemakers Company!
2023 SUMMER SEASON: June 28 - August 5

Daily 10 AM - 5 PM plus a pre-season concert outing.
The season begins with training in the professional studios at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn and then continues on the beautiful campus at the Fieldston School, Bronx NY.

YDC is a unique, tuition-free summer dance ensemble of NYC teens dedicated to creating their own original choreography and performing it in free touring concerts city-wide, for audiences of up to 2000 young people and adults each season. Company members, selected annually by audition, are drawn from throughout the NYC public high schools.

YDC PROGRAM INFORMATION
YDC welcomes accomplished dance students as well as bold newcomers, currently in NYC public high school grades 9-12.

SEASON DATES:
June 28 - August 5
10AM - 5PM Monday - Friday, plus the finale concert on Friday evening August 4th.

YDC is a completely FREE program including tickets to performances, master classes, workshops, transportation and free metrocards.
YDC AUDITION INFORMATION
AUDITION: A Zoom audition will be scheduled after receiving your application.

AUDITION PREPARATION: Create a NEW short SOLO STUDY to be performed at the audition. Include the following: walk, run, turn, jump, fall, quickness, slowness, stillness, balance, off-balance, smooth, sharp, level changes. Be ORIGINAL. Approach this composition assignment with your own interpretation, idea and images. And have a good time with it!
