Dixie State is set to continue WAC action by hosting a three game series with New Mexico State.

ALL-TIME VS. NEW MEXICO STATE:
This week's game will be the fourth meeting between the Trailblazers and the Aggies. DSU has trails 0-3 in the overalls series. The last time the two teams met up was during the 2021 season.  Dixie got swept in the series with scores of 9-4, 10-7, 8-6.

KNOW YOUR FOE:
NMSU enters the game with a 9-24 overall record on the season and are 4-8 in WAC play. The Aggies are led by Jillian Taylor who is hitting .416 on the season. She has 32 hits including four homeruns and six doubles. She's racked up 15 RBI.  In the circle, NM State has a team ERA of 9.99. The Aggies are led by Jordin King who has an 8.00 ERA. She's got 55 strikeouts in 91.0 innings pitched.

The Trailblazers currently have a 13-24 overall record and are currently sitting at No. 6 in the WAC West Division with a 3-9 record.

DSU was picked No. 4 in the WAC West Division preseason Coaches Polls and had Hannah Hughbanks placed on the WAC Preseason All-Conference team.

CONSISTENT SPOT:
DSU has two Blazers filling consistent starting spots in all 37 games of the line up. Laura Lockard has locked down third base while freshman Lauren Almeida has started at shortstop in every game. Kasey Crawford and Marisa Rubio have made appearances in all 37 games.

SIMKINS' 500
Randy Simkins is on his way to his 500th NCAA Career victory. He currently has a 466- 194 record as a four-year NCAA coach.
He hit a career milestone in the 2021 season with his 500th win as a head coach. Against Grand Canyon on April 10, The Trailblazers came from behind to put up four runs in the final two innings to defeat the Lopes with a 4-2 score giving Simkins the milestone win.

HUGHBANKS' DOUBLES UP
Junior Hannah Hughbanks has recorded 37 doubles in her career. Last weekend against California Baptist Hughbanks recorded two doubles to push her total into the school's top 10. She now is tied for 10th for most doubles in a career in school history.
