Citizens National Bank Corporate Giving

Giving back to our communities has always been important. One of our core values at CNB is Community. While we engage with our communities throughout the year, last year we launched our CNB Corporate Giving. We wanted to support an organization with an emphasis on education that serves all our communities and found a perfect fit with a focus on Area 12 of the Texas FFA.

We kicked off the program in 2022 with a $25,000 endowment to the Texas FFA Foundation. We are excited to announce we have given another $25,000 endowment. Pictured above is last year’s winner of the scholarship given through the endowment, Brianna Chavez.

This gift will establish a $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to one Texas FFA member in Area 12 through the Texas FFA Foundation’s scholarship endowment. Texas FFA Area 12 includes Bastrop, Bell, Brazos, Burleson, Falls, Lee, Milam, Robertson, Travis and Williamson counties, which intersects with Citizens National Bank’s service area of eight Central Texas locations.

FFA Mission: FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

FFA Motto: Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to live, Living to serve.

“The mission and values of the Texas FFA align with our mission at Citizens National Bank to serve and support the local community,” said Steven Wise, President and CEO of Citizens National Bank. “Many of our team members have been directly involved in FFA and believe in the importance of educating our communities’ children to build a brighter future. We look forward to collaborating with the Texas FFA and continuing to build a sustainable partnership.” For more about the launch check out last year’s press release, Citizens National Bank Awards $25,000 to the Texas FFA Foundation Scholarship Endowment. New corporate gifting program gives back to local community through supporting education.

“We are honored to be on the receiving end of this generous donation from Citizens National Bank and it truly shows their mission of supporting their local community,” said Area 12 Coordinator, Jack Winterrowd. “This endowment will directly support students to grow their agricultural knowledge, professional skills and will in turn, create a new generation of leaders in our area.”

We have seen the benefits of this foundation firsthand. Many of our CNB team members and their children have been involved in the Texas FFA. In the recent press release a team member shares his love for Texas FFA “Today’s Texas FFA member is far more exposed to the multi-faceted world of Agriculture. Be it horticulture, agri-business, production agriculture or communications, students can select their particular interest and excel through a program that rewards honest effort and hard work. One of the greatest contributions Texas FFA makes to each student is the exposure to leadership,” said Cedar Park Branch President, PSO and 1st FFA VP 1983/84, Jeff Baker. “Students learn how to conduct meetings properly and gain confidence in expressing their thoughts and ideas to others. The Texas FFA has masterfully adapted the organization and its programs to reflect the everchanging dynamic of agriculture while maintaining a rich tradition of teaching leadership and self-confidence.”
