We are offering a $1,000 scholarship to further the education of someone who has made sacrifices for a loved one during a time in their life when they needed extra care. We will be accepting applications for this scholarship from now until April 30th, 2023. We are asking that applications write a 750-1,000 word essay discussing a time when you had to put the health of a loved one first or provided support through a career or volunteer service. Whether they were suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, or were at a time in their life where they just needed more help and support, discuss your experience with helping someone else, what life lessons were gained, and how has it changed your outlook on life?
Once all submissions have been received, the entries will be reviewed, and one student will be selected to receive a $1,000 award. The award will be given to the person who best responds to the prompt.
Eligibility
A) The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, college student, or graduate student for the 2022 semester or anyone going back to school.
B) Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
Application Requirements
A) The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: discuss a time when you had to put the health of another or a loved one first, whether they were suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, or were at a time in their life where they just needed more help and support. Discuss your experience with helping someone else, what life lessons were gained and how has it changed your outlook on life?
B) The candidate must submit a resumé that lists their up-to-date contact information and experiences, both professional and academic.
C) The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students or returning students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
D) The recipient of the Care Throughout the Ages Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
