Internships

I am pleased to offer internships in my Washington, DC and Pennsylvania district offices to undergraduate and graduate students during the spring, summer and fall semesters. Interns will gain first-hand knowledge of the legislative process and of the daily operations of a Congressional office by working with constituents and staff on issues affecting the 2nd district.

Washington, DC

In my Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. Students gain valuable work experience while learning about the legislative process. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.

In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

If interested in a Washington, DC based internship, please submit a cover letter and resume to PA02.DCInterns@mail.house.gov or call (202) 225-6111.

District Office

In my Pennsylvania office, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters and assisting with media clips. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist in various constituent case work or work on District-based projects of importance.

If interested in an internship in one of our Pennsylvania district offices, please submit a cover letter and resume to PA02.DOInterns@mail.house.gov, or call (215) 517-6572
