This book waas seriously hot! It follows the story of Anita, and her dealings with Kenneth.
There are some intense plot points but I devoured it!

Alta Hensley, you've done it again. We had a little taste of Spiked Roses in the Royally Mine Anthology novella, this time we have a full blown steamy story.
From the moment his character appears in the book Kenneth Saxon has me hooked. His powerful presence and natural dominance makes him the epitome of an Alpha male.He along with his other rich as sin buddies own Spiked Roses, a gentleman's club that knows no bounds.
Anita is a young woman from no-where Nevada trudging on with the lonely life she knows best. Until one little old lady gives her the push she needs to get out and live a better life.New Orleans and Spiked Roses are the eye opener she never say coming and so to is Kenneth. After getting in over her head at one of the clubs legendary parties Anita high-tails back to Nevada. On hearing of the trouble brewing Kenneth takes it upon himself to go fetch her and bring her back to face the music.
What follows is a road trip to beat them all. It's a battle of wills between our leading pair and what happens when boiling tempers flair?? An explosion, an explosion so hot and steamy it has the pair not only batting each other but also themselves.
This is such a well written duet POV that i couldn't stop turning the pages to see where Alta was taking me next. I can't wait to see which Bastards story is next

I liked this book as much as I disliked it, yeah I know confusing, right? The start had me engaged from the first word and I LOVED Kenneth's alpha strong nonsense character but I didn't like how after the contract (trying to leave out spoilers here) he did a complete 180 and mentioned the "L" word, (for me) it truly was bizarre and often I couldn't tell if day/s or week/s had passed. And where was the scene were Anita took Kenneth to meet Verdie? The details throughout were a little lacking, thus the confusion. Anita's character was good but she tended to change her mind too much.

I do recommend this author as I have read her other books and it wouldn't surprise me to find that I'm in the minority in my review. I'm picky and a harsh review but I also saw more potential in the story.

Anita who was brought up by her grandparents in a trailer behind a disused petrol station in the wilds in a place called Muckaluk . Sadly now she’s living there on her own since her grandparents have passed away, Virgie Peterson is her only friend and her employer Anita started looking after her a few years ago as Virgie was elderly and needed help around her home . They had a good relationship and after some advice and a few phone calls made by her Virgie Anita moved to New Orleans …… The Spiked Roses gentleman’s club is a club unlike any other in New Orleans. It’s run by a group of very wealthy influential men and the only way you can get in is through your linage or if you happen to be extremely wealthy . The only females there are the staff who know exactly what goes on, there are rules that the staff must adhere to and they know that the word No is never used . One of the owners is Kenneth Saxon who’s a hot shot wealthy lawyer and is hiring new staff, when Anita arrives at the club for an interview he’s very much attracted to her, he realises that she may be well out her depth in the club but he still hires her . Within the club there’s The Tasting Room , where events are held frequently , the girls who work there know that they can earn life changing money by attending the events there . Sexually anything and everything is on the table in The Tasting Room room but the men must get the consent of their chosen partner in writing which is sealed with blood before any contact is made . When Anita says she wants to attend the event, Kenneth is not happy and although he strongly advises her not too he is powerless to stop her attending , something tells me this is going to end badly ………… In my personal opinion I felt that this had the potential to be a very good story but I felt that it was lacking a bit lacking in the body of the story I couldn’t quite make out Anita. I’ve read a fare few books in this genre but even for me there was one scene in particular between Anita and the man who bought her contract, that even for me was really hard core .

I will admit there was a rough spot in this book that almost had me putting it down. But something told me to keep going. Note : ( I’ve read books way more violent ). It’s just the way this one hit me at the moment.

There are several deeper lessons within the learn from for some people who think they can handle any situation... even when people try to give warnings .
I always say one of the situations in many books stems from the lack of conversations. Rather the lack of even trying to have one or the lack of being honest when someone point blank asks you for reasons . Sometimes not letting someone in causes more pain than the pride of just telling the truth .

The spark ⚡️ between this couple is really LIKE
SEEING BLOW TORCH & A CIGAR LIGHTER dual ..
both of them switching the role . You’ll see if you read it.
Not wanting to admit what they want because they think a deeper connection is out of the question.
But lightening sizzles. ⚡️

The Cat & Mouse .. yet boss & employee .. the stubbornness of Anita .. ends up costing her a lot of pride & embarrassment. She admits in in the end .

When things turn into full bloom you will be glad you read it .. heart of steal into heart of love ❤️.

We find love in unlikely places that is for sure , we can’t rule out certain situations in life because we never know what they will bring .

.⚠️Just remember not every situation can be fixed by a powerful club of men . If you get into deep ,
seek help immediately tell someone & let them know. Staying silent only harms you !!!

#Ladies be careful in life & BE SMART & Help each other in times of need . Be the sister aunt or mom for others !!!
