What is NMSBA?

The NMSBA program assists for-profit small businesses in New Mexico with technical and/or business challenges. Arrowhead Center, as a contractor for Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), brings the unique resources of New Mexico State University through faculty and staff to assist in a variety of technical and/or business challenges.

How NMSBA Works

Working teams for NMSBA projects are comprised of cross-disciplinary groups of technology entrepreneurs, technical staff, subject matter experts, and inter-disciplinary graduate students to help small business in the following areas:

  • Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of product
  • Technology Demonstration and Validation of product
  • Technology Product Usability Testing of product
  • Technology Feasibility Demonstration of business or technical aspects

The team works directly with clients to complete tasks specific to their needs and that will add value to their business. Assistance is provided at no cost to the business. The assistance provided must not be available through the private sector at a reasonable cost.
