To nurture this vision, we've initiated hackerLab for Summer 2024, aimed at catalyzing startups at the vanguard of software innovation, thereby contributing to the expansion of applied technological solutions in crucial sectors.
Since its inception, the notion of groundbreaking software has captivated global interest. Entrepreneurs across the globe are harnessing technology to redefine our most vital industries. The pace of innovation is accelerating, all the while the barriers to creating new technological solutions are diminishing.
We believe we are just at the beginning of this thrilling journey.
Today, we're thrilled to announce the call for applications for hackerLab S24: the first cohort of our eight-week intensive program designed for exceptional JavaScript engineers keen on crafting the next generation of software platforms.
The core of our program is hands-on programming and direct user interaction. You'll spend most of your time coding and talking to customers, guided by mentor feedback and insights from tech industry leaders, to address real challenges and seize opportunities in technology innovation. Additionally, participants will benefit from an investment from Symmetric's startup fund and become part of our vibrant community of innovators.
We encourage applications from founders of all backgrounds, disciplines, and levels of experience. Familiarity with JavaScript is essential, but we're eager to connect with founders from underrepresented groups and those located outside traditional tech hubs.
FAQ
What is the program stipend?
Full-time companies receive a $5,000 stipend. Part time companies receive a $2,500 stipend. All stipends are equity-free.
How many companies are in the cohort?
3 companies.
If I have a team already, can we apply for hackerLab together?
Yes. You can apply as a team or as an individual.
Does my product need to be built on top of Symmetric's development platform?
No. The program is for anyone building or aspiring to build JavaScript and TypeScript platforms.
What are the program dates?
The program runs for eight weeks, from Monday, June 3rd to Demo Day on Thursday, July 25th
What is the time commitment?
The full-time commitment is 40-60 hours per week. The part-time commitment is 20-30 hours per week.
Is the program in person?
The internship is remote, with the exception of Demo Day which is held in-person in Miami.
