More About Us
Henry Burt
Program, year: PhD, Year 3
Hometown: Dallas, TX
Undergrad: St. Olaf College
What I was doing prior to seminary: Becoming Lutheran
Fun Fact: I was a Psychology and an Exercise Science double major
What brought me to PTS: Great correspondence with the Admissions office. Having worked all four years as a student representative in the Admissions office at my college, I knew this was a sure sign of institutional integrity and great years to come!
Favorite class: Psychology of Religion doctoral seminar
The Princeton area is …: a quaint, homey slice of heaven in between all the wonderful hustle and bustle of Philadelphia and New York City
Oscar Fwangmun Danladi
Program, year: ThM, Religion and Society, '24
Hometown: Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria
Undergrad: ECWA Theological Seminary, Jos (JETS), Nigeria
What I was doing prior to seminary: I was involve developing theological reflections, served as a youth pastor, and involved in activism in Nigeria which led to a co-founded youth social enterprise, 'Jos Green Centre'
Fun Fact: I love to spend time with my son, my once addiction to work has a delightful interruption since he came into the picture, and I've become so good at playing the guitar, singing long concerts and building LEGO towers with him.
What brought me to PTS: The admission office made the application process stressless, and I am here to explore the intersection and connections between faith, society, and the environment.
Favorite class: I was blown away by Laboratory-Entrepreneurial Ministry course with Dr. Dean Kenda Creasy. It forced me to not only think but to get my head, heart and hands engaged. It animated theology and gave me the tools to make it truly incarnational.
The Princeton area is …: reminiscent of my hometown, Jos, known as a "garden city/state." Both places share a tranquil beauty, embracing greenery and offering a sense of serenity.
Jamie Neal
Program, year: MDiv - Junior
Hometown: Houma, LA
Undergrad: Southwestern Assemblies of God University
What I was doing prior to seminary: Various church ministries while completing my BA in Theological Studies online and working at the county hospital
Fun Fact: I've traveled the world as a U.S. Marine!
What brought me to PTS: I was determined to attend a seminary that welcomes diversity so I could better understand other faith traditions, enabling me to become a more effective minister. Through much prayer and consideration, I discerned God leading me here!
Favorite class: Dr. Olson's Life Together: Commandments and Community has been amazing. I'm looking forward to Theology classes as well as Dr. Wagner's Preaching and Trauma course next year.
The Princeton area is …: great for everyone! Whether one prefers the city life or rural outdoors, it's all within proximity ...and there are amazing coffee shops!
