OVERVIEW:

In preparation for the return for in-person instruction scheduled for March 1, 2021, the following proposed calendar modification to the 2020-21 academic calendar is being made.

Currently, February 25 and 26, 2021 are scheduled as full days of instruction for students and staff. A recommendation is being made to modify these two days to become 3 hour early dismissal days for students. Doing so would provide school-based staff with much needed additional time to prepare for in-person instruction with students. A significant amount of effort is needed by staff to make the transition from virtual instruction to concurrent instruction. Providing staff with additional time will be extremely beneficial with these efforts.

RECOMMENDATION/FUTURE DIRECTION:
Approve the proposed modification to the 2020-2021 Academic Calendar.
