Holy heck! We were only in town for 3 mornings and wanted to try several different coffee places. Our first morning was a bust, but our second morning, we came here, and not wanting to chance it, we also came back our third day as we left, because it was that good!
I was super excited to see that they had small drinks so I could get a few to try! The first day, I got a cortadito bon bon and a gommosita! Both were absolutely amazing and delicious - obviously, so much so, that I needed to come back the next day.
Because we had a long drive ahead of us for the next day, I got the bon bon (because it's easier for take away) and an iced latte. I still dream about the bon bon and gamossita (not actually, but actually). Would absolutely recommend - and would also highlight that the service is very welcoming!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley B.Albuquerque, NM1176210Apr 18, 2024
Cutbow Coffee is the real deal! Their Cutbow Cortado and Estrella are just out of this world. The Cortado is a creamy dream and the Estrella, a sweet surprise.
The folks here are super chill and know their coffee. They make you feel right at home. And the decor? Spot on! It's cozy, inviting, and just screams coffee love. This place is a must-visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J D.San Francisco Bay Area, CA16969Apr 5, 2024
Thank you, Paul, for bringing the taste of Peet's coffee to the Southwest! What a surprise when looking for a coffee roasters in Albuquerque on Yelp, I came across this highly rated business. In addition, when I read that Paul had worked at Peet's for more than 25 years and knows all about the ins and outs of coffee roasting and flavors, it was a win-win in my book of Yelp reviews.
You do not disappoint with your coffee drip of the day very similar to Peet's Major Dickanson's Blend - smooth and medium bodied with just the right amount of spice. I also got their banana nut bread that was moist and not overly sweet.
Stopped by on a Friday morning and there were people at all the tables but not too crowded that you had to stand in a long line out the door. Friendly service and an even friendlier owner. Good luck and hope you come visit the Bay Area again soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Vero T.San Antonio, TX33110Apr 23, 2024
This coffee shop is our favorite across three states...Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico! Although we are Texans, we love New Mexico, especially Albuquerque. Cutbow is always on our list of spots to visit. I have never had a bad experience nor bad tasting cup of coffee. It is brewed to perfection. It is not a big coffee shop but it is a very cool and cozy spot. I also love that they give a teacher discount...every day! The owner and staff are very friendly. I can't wait to go back.

Cutbow is a must-visit for a classier crowd. It's not hip, it's not loud, it's not rude, and it's not trying to upsell you on a sandwich. Being coffee professionals ourselves, we are so glad to have visited this location. Try the French press flights, and learn something new. This is like how I imagine Starbucks if it didn't become a huge corporation. The owners here are lovely people.

I had a lovely experience at Cutbow today. Their coffee is always excellent, and it's a great spot to plunk down with a book and hang out.
Today I tried the café canela, espresso with piloncillo and burnt cinnamon syrup plus a pain du chocolat from Ihatov (they also have pastries from Burque Bakehouse and Planty Sweet). The coffee was beautifully presented on a polished slab of wood with a little pitcher of half and half. Not only was its appearance striking, but the coffee was delicious, not too sweet and perfect for my tastes with a splash of cream.
I enjoyed my visit. It's good to slow down for a bit and relax in Cutbow 's calm atmosphere. Outstanding drinks and friendly, knowledgeable staff make this place one of the best coffee houses in Albuquerque.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 28, 2021Previous reviewI drive past Cutbow Coffee most mornings on my way to work, but don't usually have time to stop, so I took time to stop by on a day off in February.
I ordered a pour-over coffee and waited a couple of minutes for my order to be ordered to the walk-up window. Generally, I drink my coffee with a little half-and-half and/or oat milk, but this coffee was so delicious that I didn't need to add anything. Perfectly roasted beans and excellent technique resulted in a balanced, smooth brew. It was a little too cold the day I was there to sit outside, so I took it back to the car and savored every sip.
Outstanding beans and care for their product makes Cutbow a must-stop. - Bethany S.Minneapolis, MN4785192Jan 26, 2024
This coffee shop has us considering making a weekend trip back to Albuquerque just so we can enjoy it again. It's that good.
We swung through while making a road trip west and were craving a good coffee. This place was on the way and had good reviews so figured we'd stop in. We weren't prepared for how great it would be.
The first thing that caught my husband's eye was the hours on the door. They're closed Mondays but it's written as "Gone Fishing." A good start for my hobby fisherman husband. We walked in and it was magic. The ambiance brought the beauty of nature and spending time outside to the indoors. The place is covered in plants, fly fishing art and coffee antiques. So fun!
As the name implies, they roast their own beans so they have all kinds of amazing drinks. If we had planned ahead to enjoy our drinks there we would have tried some of the beautiful espresso drinks, expertly crafted and unique flavors. We opted for classic vanilla lattes to enjoy on the road and they did not disappoint. Perfectly flavored, not overly sweet. We considered grabbing a couple more for the road!
It's clear the employees are knowledgeable, treated well and take pride in their jobs. The service was excellent and served with a genuine smile. The employees have their own restroom which tells me the owners value the wellbeing of their staff and have thought through everything.
I don't care if it means you're going out of your way, this is an Albuquerque coffee shop you can't miss.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 139135394Aug 5, 2023
The first coffee shop I've tried in Albuquerque and it was a perfect choice! The service was amazing and the employees were very upbeat, positive, and very attentive to their customers.
The decor was a great mix of New Mexican and modern coffee shop with a lot going on inside. I particularly like the roaster being front and center as soon as you walk in the door. Also, the bean samples, about 12 of them, were a great touch and you could scent test them before ordering.
I had the Japanese style cold brewed coffee, which I hadn't heard of before. After further investigation it seems similar to an iced americano where the espresso is brewed directly onto ice. It was a mix of Kenyan and Costa Rican beans, giving it a great mix of sweet and slightly tangy, but not overly bitter as most iced americanos are.
Great spot! I'd recommend this place to anyone that is even remotely close to it!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 15, 2024
Stopped by Cutbow while visiting ABQ after doing some research on coffee roasters in the area and this place was exactly what I expected. Purely phenomenal. Paul the owner/roaster was an absolute joy to watch as he greeted customers, made drinks, and made his rounds around the cafe. He exemplifies exactly what it is to be a true leader which was so refreshing to see. He has a true passion for this industry and you can feel that when visiting Cutbow. The coffee we had was excellent. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area! And if you are local, why aren't you there right now ?!?

Small batch, locally roasted coffee to perfection is what you'll get here. Everyone is friendly, they will refill your own cup you bring in, and the place is lovely. Local art hangs on the walls, the smell of fresh coffee. It's perfect.
