Beginning of the Year Parent Survey & Title 1 Parent Meeting
*Student Headphones
We are asking each student to bring in a pair of headphones or earbuds that could be plugged into an Apple iPad. For health reasons, it is important that students have their own headphones or earbuds so they are not sharing with other students.
Please send the headphones or earbuds in a zippered plastic baggie labeled with your child’s name or you may write your child's name directly on the headphones.Nurse's Corner: Ms. Dube
GCCISD Covid-19 Safe Return to School Plan 2021-22
Self-Assessments - Students and staff should conduct daily self-assessments and stay home if ill or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Staff and students may return to school once 24 hours have passed with no fever and symptoms have improved.
Positive COVID Tests & Reporting - Individuals who have close contact with someone testing positive for COVID-19 should report to the school nurse, Ms. Dube, and also consider self-isolating for 14 days from the date of last contact and should also consider wearing a face mask if returning to school/work prior to the quarantine period. GCCISD will continue to communicate positive COVID-19 cases using the COVID Dashboard.
Face Coverings & Desk Shields - Face coverings, masks and desk shields are currently optional as this time. CDC is recommending the use of masks, while indoors, due to the rapid spread of the delta variant.
Visitors/Family Members - Visitors are allowed on campus after passing the COVID assessment screening questionnaire. Families are not permitted to eat lunch with their child for the first nine weeks of school. The number of active COVID-19 cases will determine if this restriction will eventually be removed.
Safety Precautions - GCCISD will continue to implement safety protocols to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 which include the following: sanitizer and cleaning supplies in all classrooms, sanitize high touch surfaces through out the day, sanitize/deep clean classrooms if there has been known COVID exposure, sanitizing buses between shifts, and educating students on proper use of and staff monitoring use of water fountains.
Registration for 2021-2022

- current copy of utility bill or lease agreement
Your child will not be placed into a homeroom class, if registration is not complete. Contact the office if you have any questions or need assistance with copies 281-420-4645.
Lunch Applications for 2021-22
Arrival & Dismissal Information
Arrival Time: 7:35 a.m. - 8:05 a.m.
Dismissal Time: 3:35 p.m. - 3:55 p.m.
Morning Arrival: Our doors will open at 7:35 a.m. All morning car riders will be dropped off using the Blue Heron Pkwy entrance and proceed to the front of the car rider line. Please do not stop in the middle of the line. Please ensure that students are ready to exit upon the vehicle stopping. For the safety of students and parents we ask that you do not pull around vehicles. Some parents and students exit on the left sides of their vehicles. Lastly, if your child is able to safely and independently open their car doors, please allow them to do so when your vehicle comes to a stop. You do not have to wait until a staff member opens it.
Bus riders will be dropped off in front of the cafeteria. No student should arrive at school before 7:35 a.m.
Afternoon Dismissal: The afternoon dismissal bell will ring at 3:35 p.m. All car riders should be picked up using the Blue Heron Pkwy entrance of the school using the same procedure as morning arrival. If you do not have a car tag then please stop by the front office and pick one up.
Car Rider Signs: Please display your 2021-2022 car tag. For the safety of your child/children, students will not be released to cars who are missing a tag. You will be directed to the front office and your child will be dismissed after the dismissal process. When entering the sidewalk area, please continue to drive until your car comes to a stop. Do not slow down searching for your child. Your child will be where your vehicle comes to a stop. If you are directed to pull into the circle, your child will be brought to your vehicle.
Transportation Changes
Daily transportation changes must be received by 1:30 p.m. each day in writing. Early dismissals count as a partial absence according to district policy (Student Handbook pgs. 4, 29).
Bus Transportation Changes: GCCISD will only transport students to their residence or approved daycare within their attendance zone. Students who seek permission to ride a bus other than the one to which assigned must gain approval through the campus front office.
Car Rider Transportation Changes: Parents, please park your car in a front parking space and come to the front office with a photo ID. If someone other than the parent is picking up the child, the person must be listed as a contact in the registration portal. Children will not be released during arrival and dismissal times. Parents can either wait in their vehicle, or in the front office, until arrival/dismissal time is over.
Weekly Newsletter
Every Tuesday, a weekly newsletter will be sent via text and email including announcements, flyers and important parent information. If you are not receiving this weekly communication, please contact the front office. Our intent is that this system will create the best possible school home connections.
