About the Competition

The Office of the Governor of Maryland and the Maryland State Department of Education present the 2022 Governor’s Healthcare Heroes Poster Competition for Maryland school students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Students will respond to the theme: “Celebrating Maryland’s Healthcare Heroes.”

A preliminary round of judging will occur from March 8 - March 14 to select two poster designs from each of Maryland’s 24 local education agencies to compete in the statewide competition. At the state competition, one winning poster will be selected by two jurors, First Lady Yumi Hogan, and Dr. Jinlene Chan, M.D., Deputy Secretary, Public Health Services, from each category: elementary school, middle school, and high school. The three winning posters will be reproduced and displayed at a later reception (date and location TBA).

The competition is open now through March 8, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted and multiple entries are not permitted. All entries must be submitted with a “Poster Release Form,” linked below.
