    • Summary:Unnamed female journalist on a sea voyage kept a record of daily events, weather, ships, and landfalls sighted, as well as her emotional reactions to absence from her children, homesickness, seasickness, and other minor maladies. Her husband, who is probably a supercargo on the voyage, is sailing with her, but leaves her at Macao when he has to travel to Canton on two occassions. Back of journal contains poetry and religious writings. On back pastedown is pencil inscription "Written by Lydia Blacki... Boston". One of the entries is signed "L B H". Front pastedown says "Robert Hooper diary with his property".
