PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
The proposed written Employment Agreement – Superintendent of Schools between the Board of Trustees on behalf of the Washoe County School District and Dr. Susan Enfield is being presented to the Board for its consideration and possible approval.
FINANCIAL: To be determined based on final negotiation of the Superintendent’s contract.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
At the April 26, 2022, meeting, the Board voted to appoint Dr. Susan Enfield as Superintendent of Schools for the Washoe County School District subject to contract negotiations and took action to designate Board President Dr. Angela Taylor, Board Vice President Dr. Diane Nicolet, and Board Counsel Anthony Hall as the parties responsible for negotiation of an employment agreement with Dr. Susan Enfield.

LEGAL: Nevada Revised Statutes 241 and 391 guide the legal processes the Board must follow in the selection and appointment of a superintendent of schools in Nevada.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: The Board of Trustees welcomes and encourages community involvement in the superintendent selection process.

RECOMMENDATION: The Board of Trustees approves and enters into the written “Employment Agreement – Superintendent of Schools” between the Board of Trustees and Dr. Susan Enfield as the Superintendent of Schools for the Washoe County School District pursuant to Nevada Revised Statute 391.110.
