Dr. Linfeng Chen serves on the Board's Policy Committee, and as a liaison on the MABE Nominating committee, and PTA Council of Howard County (PTACHC). Dr. Linfeng Chen is a father of three Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) students. He has served on the Board of Education Operating Budget Review Committee, HCPSS Science Advisory Committee, Social Studies Advisory Committee, and the Calendar Committee.
Dr. Chen has also volunteered in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, serving in various roles as Den Leader, committee member and event coordinator. He has volunteered as a science station manager at the Linstead Day Camp at the Howard County Fairgrounds and has been a treasurer for the 2012 Girls United Blue Travel Team of the Soccer Association of Columbia. Dr. Chen served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Howard County Chinese School and was a founding member and vice president of the Chinese American Parent Association of Howard County.
Dr. Chen is a structural engineer with a Doctorate in Applied Mechanics from the University of Virginia.
He and his family have lived in North Laurel in Howard County for 12 years.
