Nonrefundable deposit payment for Engineering Your World Summer Camp.

Students will discover solutions to engineering challenges by exploring five engineering disciplines: mechanical, electrical, civil, biomedical, and chemical engineering through ten hands-on activities designed to simulate a collaborative lab environment and spark the imagination.

Mechanical Engineering faculty and student mentors will work one-on-one with students to build a 1.) saltwater circuit and 2.) DC motor; design and build a 3.) swamp cooler, 4.) Mars rover egg-lander, and 5.) artificial bicep; create, construct, and test the strength of a 6.) bridge made of spaghetti, 7.) prosthetic leg, and 8.) clay boat; 9.) test and analyze sunscreen, and 10.) test and modify the chemical composition of slime to maximize its "bounce" factor.

Students will develop critical thinking, time-management, and problem-solving skills and practice collecting and analyzing data, conducting experiments, and carrying out investigations. Each day includes an icebreaker, two lessons, two activities, two social opportunities to connect with fellow students, lunch, and a debriefing.
