Good riddance, except for the athletes,

It’s very simple. The Games will go to whoever offers the IOC the most dirty money.

you would think the AP would have figured that out by now.

Is there a reason the Italian is not a full staff? The Greek also looks a little shy of being fully unfurled next to the Chinese.

-“The Italian flag, right, flies next to Greece, center, and China during the closing ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics, on Feb 20 in Beijing.” -

IOC has tainted the games. China has destroyed my faith in humanity. Russia, well... they are the devils' tool.

As a major pharmaceutical manufacturer, India would be ideal for the IOC (& ROC), along with its low cost labour market, and a few billionaires to dictate what must be done. Minority rights, abuse of women, freedom of press are also very low on their horizon.

Sadly, Sapporo will have no competition in 2030 because no one wants the Winter Games anymore except Japan. They only had Beijing and a Middle-Eastern city going for 2022 and the IOC has turned to ASKING countries to do it instead of vice-versa. And with Japan being suckers and willing to fork out all our taxes (then raise them because, "shouganai!"), the IOC will be licking their chops and counting the ways in which they can increase the costs.

The Olympics have said goodbye to Asia

Well how can that be?

As I understand March 4th will see the start of the Beijing Winter Paralympics.

Oh - we didn't mean that the Olympics have finished and left Asia.

We didn't mean to not include the Paralympics we meant .......well you know what we meant.

Yeah - we know.

"The favorite could be the world's most populous country — not China, as you might expect, but India."

LOL hope this does not become another mess that was created when India was host of the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

"Indian IOC member Nita Ambani, who is married to Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of India's multinational conglomerate Reliance Industries. The family fortune has been estimated at $100 billion."

The only way India can pull off an Olympics successfully is if the government keeps its hands off and hands over everything to Ambani. It could then become the first ever privately hosted Olympics, and in return Ambani will extract his pound of flesh for sure.

Who cares about the Olympics? It’s such a huge waste of money. Boring as heck. And the Winter Olympics are even worse. Curling? Seriously? It’s more entertaining watching my elderly mother sweep the floor!

I feel a little dirty after reading that blurb.....the games are clearly a dirty business......

They have. They just don't want to say it out loud

Just keep the Olympics in one place and reuse the facilities. They should take it back to Greece, where it originated. They could use the cash influx.

But if you had to pick two countries where it was always doable and where you wouldn’t have doubts that they could pull it off — it’s those two."

Doable because those two don't give a damn about their general population but special interest.
