IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a list for therapists (psychotherapists, specifically, though not all may use that term) in Massachusetts and Rhode Island who are PEOPLE OF COLOR. This is a public list that anyone on the internet can see. It is meant to assist with referrals and also to provide the public with a centralized list of therapists who are people of color, which is in high demand. Please DO NOT enter your information on this list if you are not a person of color and do NOT use this for promotions. Thank you!

FAQ:
11
Can I sort this big spreadsheet somehow?
12
Yes, you can, temporarily and in ways only viewable to you! More info here: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/3540681?hl=en#null — But basically, click on "Data" in the toolbar, then "Filter Views" where you can see two preexisting filters I've made (therapists who offer sliding scale / adjusted fees; therapists licensed in RI since most are MA-based). From there you can also create temporary filters for yourself.
13
Can you share an editable version of this document so [insert reason here]?
14
Sadly, nope! More on this below. We know not being able to edit or play with the document makes it more challenging to read through or poke through, but this is the best solution we have found at the intersection of safety, usability, and resources to maintain this directory.
15
Why is this read/view-only?
16
Multiple reasons, actually. We don't offer this as a printable so that people make sure to go to the most updated/recent version of this document and don't share outdated info. We've had old copies circulating before and becoming frustrating for both prospective clients and providers, so we changed it up some years ago. When the document was editable by anyone, we had multiple instances of all the content being deleted, wrongly edited, and so on. Furthermore, we had people use it for unauthorized and unsolicited email blasts and marketing schemes. So! To avoid that and protect the data shared with us, we have made adjustments over the years and this is where we are with it now.
17
How often is this updated?
18
It varies! I and/or my assistant send out 1-2 annual reminders for providers to update their information here. People can also update their listing whenever they'd like, either by resubmitting it (and us deleting the old one) OR by sending us a small edit directly that we can do manually. This is also why we don't ask who's currently taking clients on this sheet—that can change so frequently it would become a NIGHTMARE to keep that updated here.
