With support from the United Soybean Board, WISHH will participate in Expoalimentaria carnes y lácteos de Costa Rica, the premier business platform for the food industry in Central America and the Caribbean. WISHH is sharing its expertise on the use of soy protein ingredients at the event which hosts more than 3,000 conference attendees.

WISHH continued its work with the private and public sector to highlight U.S. soy’s global value by participating in the Association of 1890s Research Directors (ARD) Biannual Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee. Executive Director Gena Perry highlighted WISHH’s work in global trade for in global food security, climate resilience, and the significance of private-sector collaborations. Perry also discussed WISHH’s young aquaculture profession training program supported by the United Soybean Board.

With support from the Nebraska Soybean Board, WISHH expanded its aquaculture aeration trials to Nigeria. Aeration systems are currently in limited use in Africa. The adoption of these innovative technologies help strengthens potential trade avenues for U.S. soy while supporting aquaculture farms in the region, creating a win-win situation for WISHH and its partners.

Now accepting Proposals: ASA/WISHH is looking for introductions to U.S. exporters; vet trade leads from importers and buyers; updating the Soy Buyer’s Guide; traveling with select trade teams, assisting trade team members with their buying and purchasing decisions; research U.S. consolidators or third parties that could purchase and export value-added soy proteins; and provide content and/or copy to update the WISHH website on the business opportunities in developing and emerging markets for U.S. exporters.

Now accepting proposals for Animal Feed Strategy. The targeted countries in Asia include Cambodia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Targeted countries in Africa are Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. All questions regarding the preparation of proposals must be submitted in writing (by e-mail) to Chris Slemp at cslemp@soy.org (cc: jneiderman@soy.org, apoock@soy.org) no later than 5pm CST on March 19, 2024. All questions and responses will be available on the WISHH website on or shortly after March 21, 2024.
